Social Media How To’s and Top Tips

Welcome to February

Well that was fast wasn't it!  Admittedly, I did personally lose the first week of January because I was upskilling myself and absolutely delighted I did. It was completely worth it. I'll be passing on what I learned from that training to here.

Let's check out what you may have missed and see if there are somethings you want to implement going forward:

Facebook

Video, Reels and Being a Creator

The massive move over to video continues with fervour! Writing blogs and posts still work but mustn't been done in isolation. Where possible repurpose your content into video.

There is a new Professional Mode available now for Personal Pages (previously only on Business Pages) that would favour the Creators out there. This includes access to Insights and monetisation as well. Want to learn more than check out this blog.

Also there apparently is a lot of updates coming up for Facebook Groups so if you already have one keep an eye out. If you don't you should probably get one!

Instagram

New Instagram Banner for Upcoming Livestreams

Are you waiting to hear from your favourite Instagrammer? Well wait no more!  Shortly there will be a banner you can view and click on to to get a reminder about their next livestream. As you probably know we have have something like that for some time now in Facebook so this addition will be very handy. Learn more about it here in this blog.

Instagram #1 Downloaded App for Q4 2021!

So TikTok better watch out!

Messenger

End to End Encryption Enabled

It may seem to make a lot of sense that this should be enabled but it's still not. It will be hopefully very soon though going from the news being shared in this blog. Do you think this is a good thing?

Twitter

Tweets to Close Friends - Flock

Twitter has started work on a new feature that lets users post certain tweets to a limited number of close friends in a parallel timeline. Yes, re-read that. It took me a few times to get it...

To learn more about this upcoming feature check out this blog.

Google Business Profile

Manager Waiting Times for Newbies

In an effort to protect a brand, business or persona GBF have starting implementing a 7 day waiting period for any new Managers that are assigned to a profile. I actually like this. A protective buffer for clients and although it may slow down a social media manager somewhat, its worth it I believe. Have a read of this latest update here.

YouTube

You Can No Longer Dislike a Video

The CEO of YouTube has decided to remove this facility in a move to reduce dislikes of the viewer of the actual YouTube Channel rather than the specific YouTube video that the dislike button is on. Do you think this was a good move by the CEO?  It was seen as a bit controversial. Learn more about it in this blog.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn Audio

So a little late to the party but finally there is LinkedIn. After seeing the huge growth of this space it made sense for this mammoth and professional platform to add it to its profile. As we slowly creep back to "normal" and events restart, its well worth adding this element to those that can't or won't travel just yet. I do wonder how ever that as they have brought this in so late in the game, when we do have more in-person events whether this will actually stick on LinkedIn? Only time will tell. Find out more about this in this blog post.

1:1 Marketing Course Designed for You

Supported Digital Marketing Strategy Training

If you're looking to create a strategy for your social media and overall digital marketing and would like to know how to do this by yourself for your own business or for the company you work for, then you maybe interested in doing this training that I offer.

I help you create it at a pace you set, filling in the gaps in your knowledge along the way. You'll be given work to do between the sessions that you can manage and that won't be overly disruptive to your everyday workload.

This will give you accountability and you can contact me anytime during the training if you have any questions that crop up between sessions.

As we head into February, I can see already a large uptick in interest in these courses and workshops both privately and publicly. I have however set aside some regular time slots to offer this training and it can run either in 1 month, 6 weeks or even 12 weeks if you prefer! I can give you the dates to fit around both our schedules from day one so you know this in advance. If you would like to learn more about what this covers, then visit this page.

This course has been currently accepted by 5 Local Enterprise Office Areas as suitable for the Trading Online Voucher but you can also get this training directly. Check out all the lovely testimonials I have received regarding this course.
