Business Mindset

Good afternoon allIt's the end of the year and I know you have no intention of reading this right now but the OCD in me still wants to send this out.I tend to try and digitally detox around this time (well for myself anyway) although I of course still continue to work for my clients. I still had to create strategies for myself and clients of course and have spent most of this month speaking to them and building a plan for at least the first quarter.A big thanks to the members of Women's Inspire Network who helped me on my night as Starbiz at the beginning of the month on Twitter. It was a lovely bunch of people and I really appreciated all their support.I hope you've had some down time and I look forward to interacting and meeting you sometime in the future. You can always catch me on social media!

Just to let you all know that from the 1st of January 2020 my business is now under the Fresh Perspectives Market Research umbrella and I have now transitioned from Sole Trader to Company. Fresh Perspectives has been established since 2011 and as a co-Director of both businesses I hope to further both companies and establish a more solid grounding in the Irish and International markets. This means I am now VAT registered! It's exciting to make this change and to offer even further stability to my clients. 2020 will be a year of growth!

LinkedIn - Open for Business

A new little add on that LinkedIn have allowed is #OpenforBusiness. This means you can message someone your not connected to for free to ask for further details or a quotation. It's relatively simple and quick to sort out and Sarah Jane Vincent recently wrote a blog about how to do it. Have a read and set it up in a flash on your profile right now.

Staying on LinkedIn - you may want to make sure you avoid the 7 Deadly Sins! This article in Entrepreneur outlines what you shouldn't do on LinkedIn. Some are common sense and others are ones I had never thought to do to be honest :D. Are you adding LinkedIn to your 2020 strategy?

Facebook 101

If you're forcing yourself to get on Facebook next year for your business - then start with this really useful guide. Unless you've lived under a rock you know I rate AgoraPulse highly. Their comprehensive blog outlines all you need to know to get you started and more importantly get into a good habit of doing it.

How to Use TikTok for your Business

It's not a platform I am personally very familiar with, as the age range tends to be fairly young:

The majority of TikTok's users are young social media users; 66% of worldwide users are under the age of 30. In the U.S., 60% of the app's monthly active users are 16-to 24-year-olds and 52% are iPhone users.Dec 13, 2019 › blog › top-tik-tok-statistics-demographics

There is a case for a lot of businesses to use it however. Remember, it's not how old you are that matters, it's how old is your target market! Have a read and see if you can place your business on TikTok for 2020.

Google My Business Photos

I'm not sure if they think they're helping or not? GMB have started a new service that was brought up in this article this month about automatic posting that cannot be deleted??

I realise its in an effort to help raise the Google accounts profile but by not allowing the owner of the profile to adapt, edit or change whatever they have created - they could well put up something that is inappropriate.

I receive a regular fortnightly prompt from GMB stating that my post is timing out and asking me to put something up. Maybe because I regularly do this has not yet happened to me. Let me know if this has happened to you? I'd be very interested in hearing your opinion on this.

Creating Goals

We all need to do it! I need to as well. It's what drives us forward and helps us measure. Sp what kinds of goals are you looking for? Business naturally, but there are others too. Personal, health, financial etc. It's worth adding these too as we are 4 dimensional beings!

Doesn't matter how you do it, be it lists or spreadsheets or even vision boards. Start with short term achievable goals and build on them. Also make a point of scheduling time off for yourself this year. Selfcare is a thing - I came to find out about it myself this year and it gave me back my sanity (mostly).

My most popular blog on this entire website is called Visualise your Target, maybe its time you did?
