Social Media How To’s and Top Tips

The Social Media Round Up March 2022 is now out. Get the hot tips you need to better your marketing and save time and money too!

Welcome to April

The first quarter of 2022 has been a mixture of release and fear. Release of the restrictions from COVID to the fear of war. I myself and businesses that have approached me over the last month have all wondered how this conflict would affect our business and have noticed a slight decrease in promotion but other than that, its not effected us much at all.

Now all we need to do is push forward, whilst the world is still spinning - we need to do our bit to support our family and our economy, it's already pretty bent out of shape.

Let's check out what you may have missed and see if there are somethings you want to implement going forward:

Facebook

Enable Facebook Protect

I just got asked to add this myself this month, purely because I'm a journalist of course. Very simple process and I already had 2 step authentication allowed so it was very quick. Watching our data safety has to be something we do weekly if not more often. Have a read about this just to reassure yourself (I did!)

Please ensure you update your phone daily to prevent scams and hacks! Its a moment of your time to save your personal information, sleep and sanity.

Another Redesign...ugh

As expected, Business Suite is being foisted on us at a pace. I don't mind it that much (now) it's a bit of a mind bender for people especially those that use it on their laptop - I can sincerely see some people might stop using it there once this has update has been pushed onto them. From what I can see at the moment, the experience hasn't really changed much on the phone as yet (though I'm sure that's to come). Check out the changes here.

One thing I don't like about all these changes is that is slowly eeking out the "older crowd". They can't be bothered with all these changes and most are only on social media to stay in touch with family. I can see a lot more of this generation moving over to contact only apps like Messenger and WhatsApp just for ease.

Group Safety and Support

As Facebook ever pushes the envelope when it comes to community building, they have devised some more ways to keep our tribes safer. Some really good ideas in here to be fair, using Admin Assist AI's etc. Read all about the impending updates here.

Dynamic Experience Explained

I just love the way Jon Loomer talks about the word dynamic at the beginning of his post. It is very overused in Facebook! Lol.

Dynamic ads have been a gift for many businesses over the last couple of years and each update has seen it get easier and faster to create, so I was intrigued when I spotted this blog from Jon. The versatility if offers you to use many areas of the ad is extremely appealing. If it's time you upped your game on ads then have a read of his post here.

Instagram

Instagram for Business

I've been a Hubspot user since January 2022 and am really enjoying their blogs! This one cropped up in my feed last month and as well as being clear to read and easy to understand, it's down right useful Check out the blog for your reference here.

Messenger

Messenger down on your phone?

I share this as a public interest post. It's been happening a fair bit this month, not really sure why but if you're getting stuck, then you'll find this article useful!

Twitter

Media Studio for Posting and Scheduling

This has been my secret weapon for the last few years. It's totally free and means you can schedule, photos, GIF's and videos for weeks or even months. You can't tag people on a picture though but can tag in the post. Learn all about it here and start using it, very simple to set up as well.

So if you're short on money and time, use this FREE tool to compliment what you're already doing with Meta Business Suite for FREE!

YouTube

Want to be on video for your podcast and get paid?

That is such clickbait BUT it was what stopped me and made me read it. You do have to qualify of course but its interesting that a forum like YouTube would be considering the podcast sphere a new outlet to break into. What are your thoughts?  What are the chances you would do it? Read more on the subject here.

TikTok

Max video length reaches 10 minutes!

To follow on from the latest update from Facebook and Instagram Reels, TikTok has upped the ante somewhat by announcing you can now hot the 10 minute mark with them.

On some level I think this is good - it means all those parts of a story shall be reduced to less parts but I can't see many people using them. In my opinion what makes short form video work is the clever way you're made to utilise the time you have to edutain your audience. I thought attention had dipped even further but maybe we have started to improve and that would explain this uptick in consuming longer content? See this post and join the discussion.

LinkedIn
