Happy August all!The July Social Media Round up has incorporated events as there are some doozies coming up.I have had the most chilled and sunny July I can remember! It's great to be off the networking circuit for a short while and spend time with the family - but social media waits for no one! So what has changed this month I hear you ask.
There are new targeting options available through Facebook that you may not have come across yet. It is very much for the Facebook Ads connoisseur so if you are already using Ads Manager and/or Power Editor this is a titbit from Marketing Land you may have missed out on, have a read.
Facebook have finally made a change I really like and I look forward to seeing my new profile page and its new layout. Check out the Mari Smith post I shared above. Have you got it yet? What do you think of the change?
Mari also shared a post about the best image size for Facebook Page Cover dimensions. As you know when people view your page on mobile it can make images look a bit skewed, so make sure you update them as soon as possible to keep a slick, professional look.
I am making this an entire separate section in order to make it easier to find. Michelle Duffy Rudden of Breffni Digital wrote this brilliant article last month and I just needed to share. I always recommend clients not do it, it is completely different platforms with different audiences and it leaves it looking untidy in my opinion. Have a read and if you do link them, please consider changing it. Michelle even leaves the link handy for you to remove the link!
OK, this isn't really social media per se, but some people have been asking me about it and frankly I haven't looked into too much as it's not my field of expertise but I did find this article useful and it helped me decide NOT to add it as yet another platform for me to be on. Are you on it? Is it all it's cracked up to be? I'd love to hear your opinions on this, tell me in the comments section below.
As you may know I know Samantha Kelly aka Tweetinggoddess pretty well and I always go to her events! Well her next event is coming up on the 5th ofOctober called From Kitchen Table to Building an Empire through the Womens Inspire Group she manages and is being held at the City North Hotel in Gormanstown. The speakers are impressive and will bring a wealth of information on the day. Click the link above and book your ticket soon as these always sell out quickly. Use the code "womensinspire" for €10 off.
Image Samantha Kelly[/caption]I have been going to Learn Inbound events for the past couple of years and have always found them really enjoyable and extremely well organised. If you want to hear from the pro's on what makes your Inbound Marketing tick then this event is for you. Book your Early Bird tickets here. It is on the 19th of October at the Olympia in Dublin.
I have selected a couple that really got me thinking. Make sure you comment on their blogs where you can and give them some feedback!
Hootsuite have put out some tremendous blogs up recently but this is one I thought you might like as it's something I feel strongly about also. The Two Things People Hate Most about Brands on Social Media.
My friend Marie Collins of DigiPulse Marketing put up this brilliant blog post called 3 Winning Improvements for your Facebook Business Page which I am sure you will find very handy.
I know this July's post has leaned a little heavily on Facebook this time but let's see what August brings out. Enjoy!
