I won’t lie; I pushed back against AI initially. I already hated the thought of “smart cars” and “smart homes.” Not necessarily because they’re smart, but because of a few reasons.
One, I personally think it might make people lazy. That spark of motivation, that time it takes to consider, do, and reflect on a task, is lost, and so is that interest and ingenuity that potentially stems from it. Two, it’s something else that can go wrong and could end up costing us more in the end. I appreciate that, unlike a house or a car, there is no call-out fee or “fixer” like a mechanic or plumber, but the fact that it works on what other people write and put out into the world worries me considerably. Have you seen what’s been going on recently??
Nevertheless, I set that all aside to try it out and see what the latest “new toy” was all about back in early 2024. I guess I was a bit of a late adopter! ChatGPT came out in November 2022 and was really becoming popular in January 2023, so I resisted it for some time.
As a social media trainer and digital marketing consultant, I’ve seen how small businesses can thrive when they learn to use AI confidently and ethically. That’s why I now include AI training as part of my workshops and mentoring sessions. It’s all about showing business owners and marketers how to work with AI instead of feeling like they’re competing against it.
Many small business owners are overwhelmed by the rapid changes in marketing technology. They’re juggling content creation, customer service, and strategy and all the while trying to stay visible online. My AI training workshops, presentations, and talks bridge that gap by showing you how to use AI as a practical tool, not a replacement for your creativity or voice.
It's not just about training like lecturing; I walk clients through real-life examples using AI tools for content planning, caption writing, audience research, and campaign analysis. The goal isn’t to automate your marketing completely, though I have to say it does save time; it’s to help you make smarter, faster decisions while keeping your brand’s persona, goals, and objectives intact. Whether you’re a solo entrepreneur, a marketing assistant, or a business owner managing your own social media, this training helps you gain control over your time and messaging.
Using AI tools isn’t hard; it’s learning to have the confidence to use them that’s the real game-changer. I focus on helping people understand how to use tools like ChatGPT, Canva’s Magic Write, and other AI-driven apps to speed up their daily marketing tasks without losing the human touch that makes their particular business stand out.
In my sessions, we explore how to use AI for idea generation, content batching, and even customer communication. You’ll be shown how to write better prompts, train AI tools to understand your tone of voice, and create systems that fit seamlessly into your workflow. This means less guesswork, fewer late nights, and more consistent output across your social and digital channels.
A big part of my AI training is also about ethics and accuracy, like understanding where AI can go wrong and how to fact-check and fine-tune its results. You’ll leave with both the technical know-how and the confidence to use AI responsibly in your business.
Clients often tell me that learning to use AI in this way transforms how they approach marketing. It takes away the fear of “not keeping up” and replaces it with curiosity and creativity. Once you know what AI can do for you, you start to see possibilities everywhere, using new ways to repurpose content, connecting with your audience, and of course, using your time more effectively and productively.
I have been given some excellent guidance in this niche by reading the AI Marketing Playbook written by Joanne Sweeney. It’s a book I dip in and out of frequently, and she offers some free and, of course, paid-for training for those that are interested as well.
While my AI training helps you work smarter day to day, my Supported Digital Marketing Strategy course takes things a step further. This one-to-one programme (and it can be for small groups as well) is designed for business owners and marketers who want a full, guided framework for building a strategy that actually works.
We start by looking at where you are now, so reflect on your your goals, your audience, and what’s working (or not working) in your current marketing. Then, over a series of 12 sessions, we develop a clear, achievable plan that aligns with your time, resources, and personality. It’s not one-size-fits-all template; I’ve found that definitely doesn’t work. It’s all personalised support that helps you build a marketing system you can sustain long after the course ends.
Throughout the course, I help you understand how to use AI, automation tools, and time and project management tools to keep your strategy running smoothly. For example, using AI to draft your blog outlines or your social media captions may help you research your keywords or even plan your content calendars. These all help you align with your time and business goals. This combination of human strategy and AI support makes marketing both more creative and more efficient.
My course also includes accountability check-ins, templates for you to keep and reuse, and practical tools that simplify the entire process. You’re not left figuring it all out on your own. I guide you step-by-step so that by the end, you have a complete, working strategy that fits you and your business and the skills to implement it confidently.
One of the reasons this training has been so successful since 2020 is that it’s flexible enough to meet people where they are at today. For some, like service providers or consultants, AI training and strategy support will help them maintain a consistent online presence while managing their client work. They learn how to use AI to create social posts, newsletters, and blogs that sound natural, save time, and attract new leads. These are meant as guides and not to be merely cut and pasted!
For small business owners who don’t have a marketing team, the Supported Digital Marketing Strategy course offers the structure they’ve been missing. They finally have a roadmap that explains what to focus on, when, and how. The addition of AI tools gives them confidence to produce quality content faster and without the need to hire extra help.
And for marketing assistants or team members who are still developing their skills, the training helps them level up quickly. They don’t just learn what to do, but why they should do it and how to understand audienceinsights, how to adjust messaging, and how to use AI to make data-drivendecisions rather than just posting for the sheer sake of it.
Each client leaves with more than just new skills. They walk away with a sustainable marketing process that fits their business. The feedback I hear most often is that the training gives people “clarity and control.” They stop reacting to trends and start managing their marketing with confidence.
I don’t believe AI is replacing marketers or small business owners; it’s empowering them. It gives you time back, helps you see your audience more clearly, and strengthens your strategy when used with purpose. The combination of my AI training and Supported Digital Marketing Strategy course gives you both the tools and the structure to make marketing easier, more effective, and more aligned with your goals.
If you ever feel like you’re stuck on the content creation elements of your business (which I hear a lot about!) or unsure of how to keep up with the pace of digital updates and change, this course and my trainings are designed for you. They’re not about quick fixes or trendy hacks; they’re about building sustainable, smart marketing systems that let you focus on what really matters: running your business and connecting with your customers.
Whether you’re ready to explore AI tools or need a full strategy that brings all your marketing efforts together, I can help you get there. Together, we’ll make sure you’re using technology to support your creativity and not replace it.
